A business lesson from Franz company

Franz company is about Chinese’s art porcelain. Firstly, the owner has built a huge company named Hacha, which focused in OEM industry. This company became the largest gift manufacturer in the world in 1995. Of course, Hacha had a very high profit margin, between 30 to 40 percent that time. After more than 30 years of growth, Francis Chen, the owner of the company and now become the President of Franz, created Franz in 2001. Franz Collection was focus on the luxury market in U.S.

Franz has the mission to revive the Chinese’s art porcelain, and to transform Franz toward the No. 1 brand of porcelain in th world of China, while at the same time market its product to the whole world. Franz, then, became a very huge company and had a lot of branches in some countries. The products are very lux and have creative designs. The style of Franz is really unique and artistic. It is not wonder because the company hire a well-known designer to their companies. Moreover, they also put high technology into their products’ design.

There are some business lessons from Franz what I get.

First, when you want to try something, do not every afraid of the market since we cannot estimate about market until we try it first.

Second, try to think free, especially in designing the products and style. Being free, without any constraints can make us create a lot of ideas. Those will be useful in getting some new styles and idea, which are different from the competitors have.

Third, technology. Technology will help us a lot, especially in adding some values to the products. If we want to get high quality, of course, high technology can help a lot. Human made sometimes has disadvantages and limitation compare to advanced technology.

Fourth, being innovative. Continuously innovation can make our products long last because we always have something new to offer to customers. Customers will like to use new products for their lives.

Fifth, good team. A successful company will depend on its team. A good team will make benefits to the results of the production. If there are only few problems in the team, they can work and create ideas well.
