In modern era, new technologies are created by scientific technology. The progress in technology is enable by scientific progress. The invention of lamp is influenced by the scientific technology because science provides the knowledge bases for scientific technology to explore how the energy can be changed into light. From this simple example, we can know that science can answer scientists questions about new instrumentation to discover and study. Then, the scientists can do research to explore more about science.

Nature and scientific technology is the complexity of nature. Technology uses science to know and understand nature. Moreover, new technology is sometimes invented by scientists and sometimes by engineers. Engineers such as mechanical engineers, civil engineers, electrical engineers, and chemical engineers can invent some new technologies by doing collaboration with scientists. It is a proof that university can be the primary performer of science progress. Industry cannot work alone to build their products, services, and production. Industry needs to have some more innovation in order to compete with many competitors in market. Industry needs to have in-imitable things to sustain in the competitive advantage. Thus, industry needs to look out the university to get some progresses in science or doing some research. Science and technology infrastructure can not be separated since they can collaborate each other.
